Simple DNS Plus v. 6.0 build 110 is now available at https://simpledns.plus/download.

This release includes the following bug fixes:

- Fixed: Notify requests not sent to secondary servers after zone was updated through dynamic DNS update (via DNS protocol). - Fixed: Tray icon not loaded on Windows startup/login.

This is NOT a critical update, and you only need to update if you are affected by the issues described above.

For new Simple DNS Plus users coming from a Microsoft DNS server with a lot of DNS zones stored in Active Directory, it used to be a lot of work to migrate these zones as there was no automated way to do this.

With the new "MsDnsExport" tool - such a collection of zones can now be exported to standard zone files with a single click, after which everything can be imported in Simple DNS Plus using the Import Wizard.

The "MsDnsExport" tool is released as open source.

Simple DNS Plus version 6.0 is here!

Now with built in version control for DNS zones. This means that you can easily view, export, compare and restore old versions of a zone.

We have also added quick right-click access to zone files, export a standard boot file along with standard zone files, quick export/import of plug-in settings (to move between servers), new hashing algorithms for DNSSEC, support for CAA-records, and several other enhancements.

With this plug-in, you can make Simple DNS Plus provide DNS records for one or more "virtual" zones by cloning records from another zone (local or remote).

This is an easy way to host many domain names that have the exact same records (except for their zone names).
